Workshops in Sacramento -- native plants in your yard

If you’re going to be in the Sacramento area this August or September, you might want to check out one of five workshops on incorporating native plants in your yard being sponsored by the Sacramento Audubon Society and the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the California Native Plant Society. The workshops are entitled “Welcoming Nature to Your Yard with Native Plants: Less water, less pollution, more bird habitat.”

The workshops involve a 45-minute Audubon at Home presentation covering the basics followed by a 45 minute optional native plant propagation class given by Jennifer Hogan of the SVCNPS.

Learn which native plants are best for our area, how to buy and plant them, and why planting natives is good for everyone. Bird populations are in decline as suitable habitat continues to be lost to development, forestry, agricultural, and other land uses.
