In what is probably the wost kept secret in Sacramento these days, numerous sources are saying that Gov. Jerry Brown will appoint former Santa Cruz legislator John Laird to head the State Natural Resources Agency. The agency oversees everything from water policy to Fish & Game to parks to farming. Worth watching because, in many respects, this is the single most important environment-related appointment the new governor will make.
