Give a child an hour in nature

Seven minutes outdoors. Compared to seven hours in front of the television or computer.

That’s the typical experience of our nation’s children each day, according to a 2010 study. Across Audubon, we are breaking this trend by getting children out into nature. But we need your help.

Audubon California’s nature education programs educate and enlighten –  from a day camp on the shores of San Francisco Bay to a school field trip to one of the last natural places in northeast Los Angeles to a Junior Biologist class in the wildlands of Orange County.

Our nature programs come in all shapes and sizes. When you break it down they cost us about $10 per hour, per child, to run. Many families can afford these costs, but many can’t. Generous folks like you make it so we don’t turn away children who are curious about the natural world.

Your small contribution can change the way a child views the entire world. Rarely has 10 bucks ever gone so far, or done so much good.

Give a child an hour in nature today.
