A little bit country, a little bit rock and roll

Named for a city that it only visits during migration, the Nashville Warbler also appears in California. The bird is taking over the birding message boards, with people from all over the state making sightings. It is special bird to see, as it is usually in relatively low numbers the rest of the year.

The graph below illustrates the frequency of sightings on eBird.

Nashville Warblers feed and nest mainly on the ground. Their diet is composed almost exclusively of insects. If you think you see one you are probably correct, they are very unique looking with their olive-green back, rufous crown patch, white eyering and bright yellow bellies.
