We recently went out and visited a habitat restoration site that we completed three years ago along an irrigation channel on a private farm near Winters. You wouldn't believe what this place looked like then -- barren, covered in non-native weeds, no birds or life to speak of. Now it's thriving, and birds are everywhere. It's amazing what we can do in a short time for bird and wildlife when we work in partnership with private landowners.
