Family of five Black Oystercatchers in Marin County

One of the groups our Black Oystercatcher team has adopted is off of Point Bonita in Golden Gate National National Recreation Area. Our Seabird Program Manager reports today that "the family of five is alive and well. A combination of parents feeding chicks and the chicks feeding themselves, just like human teenagers!" She expects them to fledge in about 10 days, so if you have a good scope or binocs head out to Point Bonita to catch a glimpse of the family.

We think all the family needs to complete their Marin lifestyle of mussels, Golden Gate bridge access and sea views is a BMW and a hot tub!
