State Birds

Discover the official birds for each of the states by visiting our Birds of North America resource and clicking 'State Birds' from the table of contents after entering. There you will find an illustration of each and description where available.

School Reports

Your best source is your local library or community nature center bookstore. You will also find our Field Guides helpful. The definitive college textbook is Ornithology, by Frank Gill, Senior Ornithologist at the National Audubon Society, published by W.H. Freeman & Co.

We also have online information about John James Audubon or the history of the National Audubon Society.

There is also a wealth of information to be found at search engines like Google and Yahoo. Keep in mind that Audubon does not endorse any particular search tool.
