Here's what we've seen at our sites around California:

• Morro Bay: The four inches of rain that Morro Bay received on Tuesday have put the estuary completely underwater as creeks rushed into the bay and there are thousands of birds visible everywhere (gulls, egrets, shorebirds) feeding off all the food that has been exposed.
• Bobcat Ranch (Yolo): Say’s Phoebes have been trickling in, and Yellow-rumped Warblers just showed up. One day last week had Lewis’s, Nuttalls, Acorn Woodpeckers, Flicker and Red-breasted Sapsucker within a 100 m radius for a Picid 5-fecta.
• Richardson Bay (Marin): First of the season on the Bay: Surf Scoter, Red-throated Loon, Hermit Thrush, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, and Fox Sparrow. Also, we’ve spotted two Osprey flying over the bay yesterday and roosting on Aramburu Island.
• San Pablo Bay (Audubon California’s restoration project): American Avocet, Long-billed Curlew, Willet, Marbled Godwit, and Black-necked Stilt were among the thousands of shorebirds at Lower Tubbs Island in the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge.
• Audubon Center at Debs Park (Los Angeles): Vaux's Swift, first Yellow-rumped Warbler of the season.
• Audubon Kern River Preserve (Kern): Turkey Vulture, Red-shouldered Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, Peregrine Falcon, Mourning Dove, Nuttall's Woodpecker, Downy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Black Phoebe, Say's Phoebe, Common Raven, Oak Titmouse, White-breasted Nuthatch, Bewick's Wren, Western Bluebird, Northern Mockingbird, European Starling, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Lark Sparrow, Song Sparrow, White-crowned Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, House Finch, Lesser Goldfinch, and American Goldfinch.
