Trevor Summons writes about the birds of Big Bear Lake in today's San Gabriel Valley Tribune:
There are more than 250 different species that live in the Big Bear Valley, and the Grays see it as their mission to help people become familiar with as many of them as possible. The valley is home to many visiting birds from the bald eagle to (sic) Canadian geese. White pelicans gather on the shore of the lake on their way to the Salton Sea, and there are always three-colored blackbirds and hawks.
