We're starting to see a lot of reports of Black-chinned Hummingbirds in California, meaning that this bird is starting to make its annual spring push into California. This bird enjoys a wider range than many of the other hummingbirds in North America. As we noted earlier, this is a bird that can appear almost year-round in southern California, but when they come up out of central Mexico, you know you're in the midst of migration.
