Eagle populations on the Channel Islands were decimated by DDT. However, since the early 80's the Institute for Wildlife Studies (IWS) has been reintroducing Bald Eagles to Santa Catalina Island, with help from the Catalina Island Conservancy. A few years back they started nest cams. Here is the webcam shot from the extreme west end of the island, where currently a pair of eagles have two eaglets. There are other nest sites with cams, on Catalina and other locations. To learn more, check out on the IWS website.
