Would you like to help count birds as part of Owens Lake Important Bird Area Spring Big Day Count? Typically we count tens of thousands of shorebirds, gulls, and waterfowl. Help us keep track of birds that breed and migrate through this critical stop in the Pacific Flyway.
The count will take place on Tuesday, April 23 in Lone Pine.
Meet: 7AM, Diaz Lake County Park parking lot, 3 miles south of Lone Pine on Hwy 395.
Please RSVP ahead of time to Mike Prather at mprather@lonepinetv.com. Teams are assembled and the count usually lasts until mid afternoon. Be sure to bring plenty of water, sunscreen, layers (for wind and sun) and your own lunch.
Sponsored by Eastern Sierra Audubon, LA Department of Water and Power, and Audubon California.
