Interesting article in today's San Jose Mercury News about the 100th anniversary of environmental protections for the Farallon Islands, which are just 27 miles west of San Francisco. The island is home to Common Murres, Western Gulls, Black-footed Albatrosses and Tufted Puffins, among other wildlife.
