A bunch of folks from Audubon California were out at the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge today watching work get started on our 250-acre project to restore and enhance wetland habitat. The area is part of the San Pablo Bay Wetlands Important Bird Area. We'll be doing lots of stuff out there over the next few weeks out there -- restoring native vegetation, knocking down levees and sills to restore tidal flow, and other activities. Several Audubon chapters in the region have helped us a great deal to get the project this far, and we are grateful for their efforts. We'll post more about the project in the coming days.
