According to the California legislative calendar, today is the last day for bills to be passed by the State Legislature, and it appears that lawmakers are going down to the wire on perhaps the biggest issue facing the state: water. Resolving this crisis is critical, not just for Californians, but for birds and habitat. As we've stated elsewhere, the Bay-Delta is one of the America's most important places for migratory birds. Whatever comes out of Sacramento today will have a tremendous impact on the state's birds. We'll keep you up-to-date as things evolve.
