New Audubon President David Yarnold is coming to California next week to see where the organization is making a difference in the Golden State, as well as connect with local members and see a few birds. We’re going to document as much of his visit as possible on video, and we thought that as long as we’ve got him on camera, it would be great to get him answer a few of your questions. So, what do you want to know? What’s his favorite bird? Where does he see the organization going in the next 10 years? Just how awesome does he think California is? Leave your questions here (or on Facebook or Twitter) and we’ll try to get as many of them in as we can. We’ll put the videos up as fast as we can during his visit.

As we’ve mentioned before, Yarnold is spending his first month on the job out in the field seeing where the organization is protecting birds and habitat, and meeting the people with mud on their boots. One of his first stops was in the Gulf to see firsthand how we’re helping birds recover from the oil spill. He also went to the East Coast, Midwest and South.

In California, he’s going to visit the Tejon Ranch (site of our recent conservation agreement), the Audubon Center at Debs Park, the Audubon Bobcat Ranch, and the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary in Tiberon. In between these stops, he’ll squeeze in some birding in Southern California, Sacramento Valley, and the Bay Area. In addition to your questions, we’d love to hear your tips on birds he should look out for. We’ll be sure to pass your thoughts along.
