The Center for Biological Diversity and the American Bird Conservancy this week began their public launch of a new campaign to ban the use of lead ammunition and lead fishing weights because of the impact on birds and other wildlife. Of course, this is something that we at Audubon California have long felt strong about -- we fought to ban the use of lead ammo in the California Condor range and we're trying to get lead shot banned in state wildlife areas. So we applaud this new effort to raise awareness about the dangers of lead in nature.
