Laverne the California Least Tern

So, some of our Audubon staffers were down in San Diego recently to do some conservation planning for Mission Bay. While at the airport, they stumbled upon this sign at the bookstore. After asking a few questions, they learned that an entire story had built around an endangered California Least Tern (which they've named Laverne)  that had been found at the airport. Not only this, but the airport has been doing conservation to protect the California Least Terns that live and nest around the runways. Never know what you'll discover if you keep your eyes open.
