Lead has been found in the blood of a wild-hatched California Condor chick found in a nest in the vicinity of the Pinnacles National Monument. According to researchers, the lead level wasn't high enough to merit taking the bird out of the wild for treatment. That treatment is known to be particularly hard on the birds.
