Meet He Sung Im, Audubon Center at Debs Park Public Programs Manager

Please join us in welcoming He Sung Im to the Debs Park team!

We recently caught up with He Sung to learn about her journey to Audubon and gain insight into a typical day at "the office."

What was your professional migratory path? How did you land here?

I began my journey in science at the University of California, Berkeley, where I specialized in immunology. After returning to Los Angeles, I transitioned into informal science education, igniting my interest in promoting equity in STEM through community outreach efforts.

Describe a typical day at work for you.

The fun part of being the Public Programs Manager is that nothing is typical! One day I will be out on the field collecting data or completing maintenance on habitat restoration with interns, the next I could be connecting with organizations all over Los Angeles.

What is your favorite bird?
It is the American Kestrel, with its spotted plumage and charming palette of colors!
