Interesting article about the dangers of open PVC mining claim markers to birds. According to the Chicago Tribune, millions of birds a year are dying from this danger. What happens is that birds get into the opening, and can't spread their wings to get out. Audubon California has been talking about this danger for a while -- we're glad to see the information getting out there.
