As you may know, there's a movement afoot to bring back the Los Angeles River to something akin to its former glory. But a lot of people might not know what that former glory actually looks like. Well, thanks to Curbed L.A. for sharing these cool photos of the river before it was paved over. What you see here is a real river, flowing with water, lined with habitat, and no doubt, full of birds.

A New Colony of Caspian Tern Decoys on Aramburu Island
