As we mentioned a while ago, Assembly Bill 708, which creates tough new penalties for poaching in California, passed unanimously through the Assembly's Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee on April 28. The bill still has a long way to go, and that's why we're asking folks to sign our petition calling on the Legislature to enact strong penalties for poaching. We now have the video from the hearing, and it's a good overview not only of the issue, but of the level of support that this bill currently enjoys. Our greatest appreciation goes out to Assembly Member Jared Huffman for his leadership and support on this issue.
