A new study from the Public Policy Institute of California shows that Californians support for environmental laws is holding strong. Thanks to the Gulf oil spill, there has been a 16-point increase in those who oppose offshore oil drilling, and nearly two-thirds of Californians support the state's landmark greenhouse gas reduction law, AB 32. Despite a well-funded campaign to suspend AB 32 until the economy improves, most residents favor acting now rather than waiting and feel that reducing greenhouse gases will not impact jobs one bit.
