If you live in California, you can help ensure the survival of seabirds by asking your legislator to vote for Assembly Bill 1299 when it comes to the Assembly floor tomorrow or the next day. As we pull more and more of the smaller forage fish out of the ocean, we're taking valuable food resources away from seabirds and other marine wildlife. This bill would force the state to consider this when assessing how many fish need to be left to ensure a healthy ecosystem. (photo of a Tufted Puffin by USFWS)
