Audubon is on the record with our opinion that drilling offshore in the Arctic is too big a risk to birds and other wildlife. And the realities of drilling in the Arctic continue to demonstrate that Shell isn't ready to take this on. For example, this article in today's Los Angeles Times about how Shell has had to greatly reduce its goal for this summer's drilling due to the persistence of Arctic ice. At some point, we have to realize that this is just a bad idea.
