Shell's Arctic drill rig the Kulluk, which broke loose from tow cables and wound up grounded on an Island near Kodiak on New Year's Eve, remains stuck. This Coast Guard video shows how close to shore the Kulluk is. For perspective, the deck of the rig is about 3 stories above the ocean surface. Maybe Shell should watch some reruns of "Deadliest Catch" to see what the weather is actually like on Alaska's oceans...This fiasco proves once again Shell is too unprepared to drill safely in the Arctic Ocean!
