On Friday November 7th, the entire student body of South Fork Elementary School visited Audubon's Kern River Preserve as a reward for good behavior. Kern River Preserve Outreach Director, Alison Sheehey, and Administrative Assistant, Sandra Wieser, met 110 children and 11 adults at the entrance to the preserve. The children were split into groups and took a walk around the nature trail. The 4th grade class was given a lesson in how to use binoculars and which birds use different types of bird feed. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and Audubon was thrilled to have so many wonderful children enjoying the preserve.
