Streams? In LA?

The LA Times' Hector Tobar covers the efforts of local activists to revive the streams and creeks of Los Angeles. Jessica Hall, a friend of the Audubon Center at Debs Park, has been working for years to raise awareness about and restore LA's diverted, buried and concretized creeks. Restoring or "daylighting" can have numerous benefits for urban dwellers, human and wild. Not only could this help re-create riparian habitat, but it also provides city kids with places to get their feet wet in their own communities, reconnecting them with the natural world.
