Californians are done with the idea of new offshore oil drilling. According to a new PPIC poll out today, just 25 percent of Californians are in favor, while 69 percent are opposed. Support has fallen by 11 percentage points since July 2016. Despite this opposition, the Trump Administration is pushing ahead with plans to review marine sanctuaries for their potential for drilling, and revise the current five-year outer continental shelf drilling program to include drilling off the Pacific Coast. Audubon California opposes any new offshore oil drilling.
