This was a big week for the Tejon Ranch Conservancy. The independent nonprofit -- created as part of a landmark conservation agreement that set aside up to 240,000 acres of California wildlands, this week celebrated its first year of work, and debuted its new website: www.tejonconservancy.org. In addition to naming its first Executive Director in Tom Maloney, the young organization has busied itself with launching programs to conduct new research on the Ranch’s extraordinary biodiversity, acquire additional protection to high priority areas and give Californians a chance to experience the Ranch’s wildlife and scenic beauty up close.
