Our Audubon Christmas Bird Count correspondent, Alison Sheehey, just sent us this photo of fellow-birder Ellen Schafhauser surveying a section of permanently protected land on the Bear Valley Springs CBC. Audubon and many partners helped to secure protection from development on this section of Tejon Ranch. The Tejon Ranch Conservancy is an appreciated partner of Audubon California that is working to protect the wide open spaces of this amazing California ranchland. Ali Sheehey is Ellen's CBC partner today. This is Ali's fifth Christmas Bird Count in six days. She is a rock star. Note: the actual Tejon Ranch Christmas Bird Count is tomorrow, and Alison will be there, along with a whole bunch of folks from Audubon California. (photo by Alison Sheehey)
