Vital Klamath bird habitat drying up

It can be argued that the Klamath National Wildlife Refuge Complex, which straddles the California/Oregon border, is one of the most important public habitat areas for waterfowl in the Lower 48. But because it's so remote, few of us know all that much about it, or understand the area's significance. Well, we need to know more, because we're pulling so much water away from it that this vital habitat is drying up. Heavy use of water from the river combined with drought conditions has left the birds with very few places to go.
