For the fifth straight year, we're experiencing wildfire on the Audubon Bobcat Ranch, located just outside of Winters. This fire, called the County Fire, is now over 70,000 acres and 5% contained. Audubon staff and structures are currently safe and not in the path of the fire as of this writing.
We are immensely grateful to CalFire for their partnership with our ranch manager, Dash Weidhofer, to help establish firebreaks prior to this fire and work to minimize damage. Thanks to those amazing first responders for all of your work and help.
You can track this fire on CalFire or on social media using #countyfire.
UPDATE:
As of the evening of July 3, 2018 the major fire danger has passed thanks to a successful back burn by Cal Fire and pre-season fire preparations on the ranch.
