Yellow-breasted Chat banded at Starr Ranch Sanctuary

This is the first time the species has been seen on the Sanctuary in 25 years.

Alison, the seasonal ornithologist at Audubon Starr Ranch and her volunteer bird banders were excited to band the first Yellow-breasted Chat ever for our MAPS station. A chat, the largest of our warblers,  hasn't been seen at Starr Ranch in more than 25 years. Some believe that Yellow-breasted Chats are the result of a warbler crossing with a mockingbird.
