Yellow Warblers helping save coffee crops in Costa Rica

The Yellow Warbler is one of our favorite birds here in California. Audubon California has a number of projects going to help restore its habitat. So we were please to find this report out of Stanford noting that the bird is helping coffee growers in Costa Rica control insects that attack coffee plants. Turns out, when the growers leave part of their field wild to serve as habitat, the birds pay them back by controlling the pests. (photo by Peter LaTourrette)
