Yosemite Area Audubon Society's Lowell Young wins Audubon Volunteer award

Yosemite Area Audubon Society President Lowell Young last week received Audubon's 2013 Charles H. Callison Award for Volunteerism at the Audubon Convention in Washington State. Several hundred in attendance gave Young a standing ovation in honor of his service to the Audubon mission. Young gave a great and moving speech, which we've documented in the video below. Our apologies for the quality, but it's a worthwhile investment to hear what he has to say:

In the video, Lowell names a bunch of colleague at his chapter who have made significant contributions. When we told him we were posting the video, he hastened to add another name that he had inadvertently left out: Kris Randal. We've also learned that Jim Spotts, who Lowell mentions in the video, has passed away. We send our condolences and best wishes to his family and friends.
