Conservation groups ramping up effort to save state parks

With the state set to close up to 100 state parks in the coming months, several conservation groups including Audubon California are looking for ways to save the State Park system, potential by revisiting the State Parks Access Pass proposal wherein a fee would be added to vehicle registrations and every driver would then get a pass into the parks. Today's article in the San Jose Mercury News talks about a potential ballot initiative, but that is only one potential option. The only thing that is certain now is that we want those parks to stay open.
