Still not a lot of information about today's oil spill in San Francisco Bay, but we do have some. Preliminary estimates are that less than 100 gallons of bunker oil escaped into the water. Bear in mind, that's VERY preliminary. No one claims to know for sure. What we do know for sure is that oil is spread out over more than a mile of water south of the Bay Bridge. Local conservation groups are trying to be cautious, but one can excuse them for being on edge. The Cosco Busan oil spill of 2007 had horrible effects on Bay birds. We're keeping our eyes on things.
