So, we all know that it is good for birds and other wildlife to plant native plants in your garden.  This week, the LA Times' "LA at Home" Blog is running a series of posts, by Ilsa Setziol, highlighting common garden plants that have the capability of becoming invaisive in wild areas.  The first one is on Periwinkle, or Vinca, which we are removing from stream areas at our Starr Ranch Santuary.
