Audubon California supports the proposed bill to ban the free distribution of plastic shopping bags in stores. The bill cleared the Assembly this week. Plastic shopping bags are a known threat to birds, particularly marine birds. We give credit to Heal the Bay and the other groups that are putting their weight into this.
