Join us to support parks initiative on Oct. 21 in L.A.

Live in the Los Angeles area and want to show your support for California State Parks? We’ve got just the perfect event for you. Audubon California is joining with the Surfrider Foundation, California State Parks Foundation, and G2 Gallery to present an evening of fun and activism in support of Proposition 21, an initiative on the November ballot that will provide stable funding for California’s awesome state parks. This free event will be held at the G2 Gallery in Venice on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Representatives from Audubon California, Surfrider, and the California State Parks Foundation will be there to talk about the importance of California State Parks and share ideas about how to spread the word about the importance of passing Prop. 21.

Because we feel that California State Parks are invaluable resources not just for birds and wildlife, but for people as well, Audubon California strongly supports the State Parks Initiative, Proposition 21 on the November ballot. In recent years, budget cuts to state parks have left them with a more than $1 billion maintenance backlog. Hours have been cut, programs suspended, and important conservation work halted. Proposition 21 would remove the state parks from the annual budget nightmare in Sacramento and create a new, stable source of revenue. This will ensure that California’s incredible state parks system will be around for years to come, protecting habitat and providing important experiences in nature for many generations to come. You want more reasons to support the initiative? Here's 50.

The G2 Gallery is located at 1503 Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. If you get lost, the phone number of the Gallery is (310) 452-2842. It's not really necessary to RSVP, but we would appreciate your giving the Gallery a call to let them know you're coming so we can plan for the size of the crowd.
