If you live in the Bay Area and haven't had a chance to see the movie Ghost Bird, you're going to get a great opportunity on Nov. 9 when the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary will host a special screening of the film, followed by a talk with director Scott Crocker. The door opens at 6:30 p.m., and the movie starts at 7 p.m. The event is free, but donations are welcome. If you don't already know, the movie chronicles the history and controversy surrounding the discovery in Arkansas of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker, which was thought to be extinct. It's an artful and thoughtful look at the subject. Watch the preview:
