Great list today. Thanks to all those that took a good look outside and then reported back to us. As usual, lots of Americans (Crow, Robin, Goldfinch) and Houses (Finch, Sparrow). Also lots of Black Phoebes, Anna's Hummingbirds, Orioles, Lesser Goldfinches and Scrub Jays. We had more than 170 sightings, and there are some cool birds in there. Anna's Hummingbird. ;) Holly - Pete told me that the Acorn Woodpeckers are taking 150 or so acorns from the stump every day!!! They have taken full advantage of these acorns, which all came from the wooden sidings (where they originally put them) of a building getting repaired.

Killdeer - out by my driveway. I haven't been able to spot the eggs to avoid squishing them, but I got the full two broken wings and broken tail once, broken tail once so far today.

Lesser American Gold Finch was the first bird I saw in Ukiah CA.Okay - done being mad at the non-stop nocturnal mocking bird choir performance and looked outside. mocking bird is what I hear..... In fact, I hear him all night long. Nay, ALL night long. He doesn't wake me up because he keeps me awake.... And I am so grumpy at the moment from his melodic unending song, I don't want to open the curtains to see which other lovely birds might be in the yard - that is unless they too are still trying to get some sleep and respite from the M.B. songs.
