Our colleagues at the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary are about to commence a major habitat enhancement project on Aramburu Island, right across from the Center. But before bringing in the heavy machinery, they took a bunch of volunteers out to the site last week to relocate native oysters that occupied the shoreline. Oysters are an important part of the ecosystem of this bay, but are struggling. We'll bring them back when the project is completed. Check it out:
