Big trouble at the Klamath National Wildlife Refuges

Audubon California and our partners have been quietly advocating for additional water allotments at the Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuge. While it's not on the tip of everyone's tongue, it is nonetheless the most important habitat for migratory waterfowl in the Lower 48. And today brings new that more than 10,000 birds have died due to avian cholera, a situation exacerbated by the shortage of water. Unfortunately, this could just be the beginning. You'll be hearing more from us about this crisis. Stay tuned.
