Don't fear, this fallout isn't the nuclear kind

(Photo of Common Yellowthroat by Dave Menke/USFWS) A fallout of warblers in Coos Bay is being reported on Oregon birding list serves. Early Wednesday morning rains forced singing Yellow-rumped Warblers, Townsend's Warblers, Orange-crowned Warblers, Yellowthroats, and Pacific-slope Flycathers down to the North Spit of Coos Bay. So what is a fallout?

Fallout is a birder's dream: a high concentration of birds, varied in type, that literally falls to a specific location because of a seasonal force.  Experiencing a fallout of spring's migrant warblers would be a technicolor dream hard to rival. We are jealous!
