When asked to name a female conservation icon, the stalwart answer is usually Rachel Carson. Now don't get us wrong, the Silent Spring's author and Audubon Medal award recipient is indeed responsible for great impact in the green world, but this International Women's Day we wanted to reach out and celebrate the countless women who, through sacrifice and celebration have made the world better for birds and the environment.
