There is a Little Bunting in Humboldt County! This is an extremely rare sighting, not only for the county but for all of North America. Little Bunting has been recorded in fall on Bering Sea islands, and 3 have turned up in California. This species forages on the ground in open field and edge habitats, where its cryptic plumage and small size make it easily overlooked.
