Audubon California signed onto Safeguarding California, a multi-sector strategy to guide the state’s efforts in adapting and reducing risk from climate change. The state of California is leading the way on a host of policies, programs, and plans intended to prevent and prepare for climate change. Audubon California's Climate & Energy Program is collaborating with federal and state agencies to identify key species of birds and habitats that are most at risk from climate change through a scientific risk analysis to help prioritize climate refugia for birds through habitats that are most important to help birds adapt to climate change.
